A feature no Pokemon game to date has effectively implemented is some kind of sink for the virtually infinite wealth you amass by the postgame. In this thread, I'd like to discuss and share some ideas that could fulfill this function in an interactive and rewarding way.
One very popular aspect of the game that I think could support this function is breeding. Currently, players can interact with breeding outcomes through the use of held items. This creates an unnecessary tedium where players have to fiddle between combat and breeding held items.
I imagine a breeding shop that sells modular upgrades to your daycare, machines that replace or expand upon the effects that the breeding held items currently have. They could have Cinnabar Lab-ish flavor, changing the properties of Pokemon in vitro. Some rough examples:
GENE SPLICER
₱ 1,000,000
Passes 1 random IV from parent to child. Upgrades 4 times for ₱ 500,000, up to 5 IVs.
PIGMENT SCRAMBLER
₱ X
Increases chance hatched Pokemon will be shiny by Y%
What are your thoughts about the need for a money sink? How would you like to see it implemented?
