So we just got done with the day's event in Thailand. My daughter and i each caught two shinies in the first twenty minutes (so four shinies in 20 minutes for two accounts). Then for another couple of hours we didn't catch a single shiny until my daughter got her third and then it started raining with about 30 minutes left and while I went through a few more Eevees, I didn't catch a shiny. So not too bad though during my previous three hour stints I've usually caught at least four shinies and as many as nine. So I had the feeling they dialed back the shiny rate so people would continue to play tomorrow. I'd be interested in other Asia Pacific player experiences to see if this meshes up (and also eventually if this i
I'd chalk just me getting two shinies in 2.5 hours to PRNG but my daughter was also in that same boat so I think that's less likely (but possible I suppose). We probably went through more than a hundred Eevees each. The other thing is that a lot of the spawns were non-Eevees even though I lured up every stop--probably 1/3 spawns were non-Eevees. This is my first real community day outside of my typical playing location in the US and even though I was in a bigger city, it felt there were fewer Pokemon around. Perhaps the stops were too spread out.
