Tell me about how you first got into Pokemon.
I remember as a kid it started with the trading card game. I saw some kids playing with the cards at my local YMCA. I eventually got the Machamp starter pack and started playing at the local Toys R Us (RIP) for recreational games and tournaments. They even handed out the original 8 kanto badges as you beat "gym leaders". I also got some promo cards too like the surf pikachu, flying pikachu, promo eevee, but my absolute favorite is my ancient mew.
The first game I played was Red on the gameboy color. It took way longer than it should have to beat the game, but it was rewarding as a kid. Charizard was the only pokemon in the original games that I ever got to lvl 100. I was proud of that, having him since lvl 5. I wish I could remember the first original 6 I use to defeat my first elite 4.
